Letter to the Membership: Moves to Remote Meetings and Preparing for Training Day 2020

The past few months have been a roller coaster. Just over six months ago, we had successfully held our biggest Training Day at the Grapevine Convention Center. And three months ago, we saw many of you at Oracle Cloud Day and our February EBS Forum. Then suddenly, everything stopped.

Quarantines and social distancing measures have kept us apart – at a time when many are now needing retraining or networking opportunities the most. That’s why we are taking steps to schedule and conduct our meetings remotely using Zoom.

To make the best content available, we are waiving the event sponsorships for the remote sessions. Registration for the remote sessions will be free, albeit limited to 100 seats for now. And the different forum chairs are reaching out for quality presenters and content.

DOUG is also partnering with the Texas & Louisiana Oracle Applications and Technology User Group (TLOATUG) to bring back Training Day on Thursday, October 1st. For the second straight year, we will be at the Grapevine Convention Center. By sharing the cost and coordinating with TLOUG, we are confident that we can improve upon last year’s strong effort. And this will give our members an expanded set of Oracle eBusiness Suite presentations and even more great speakers. We will be calling for presentations this month and details will be available online at DOUG Training Day 2020.
