DATABASE FORUM: Virtual Session on Security from 2pm to 7pm (7/14)

DOUG will be holding a virtual database forum on Tuesday, July 14th from 2pm to 7pm. We will be focused on security with three speakers.

Topic #1 (2:00pm – 3:00pm): Keeping Data Safe in the Age of COVID-19 – a Real-World Case-Study in Protecting Data Privacy
Speaker: Russ Lowenthal and Nitin Vengurlekar, Oracle

Topic #2 (3:15pm – 4:45pm): Oracle Crime Scene Forensics: Crime Reconstruction
Speaker: Daniel Morgan, Managing Director of dbsecworx and Oracle ACE Director Alum

The goal of crime scene reconstruction is to solve the crime and help prevent recurrence. In this session Oracle ACE Director Alum Daniel Morgan will reconstruct successful attacks perpetrated against Oracle Databases and provide guidance on how to mitigate the risk. Morgan’s forensic tool will be SQL*Plus and all DCL, DDL, and DML will be made available to those that attend so that they can challenge their own systems to identify risks.

Topic #3 (5:15pm – 6:15pm): Top 10 Database Security Features You May Not Be Using
Speaker: Russ Lowenthal, Oracle Product Manager

Oracle Database Enterprise Edition has hundreds of powerful features that help you secure your data, and we add new capabilities with every release. Join Russ Lowenthal, Oracle Product Manager, to discover 10 security features you may not be aware of. These features can help you streamline user administration, reduce your attack surface, deploy more-secure applications, and protect sensitive data. Spoiler alert – nothing covered in this session requires an extra-cost license.

Following the last speaker, we’ll have an online happy hour until 7pm.
